We are happy to announce that on July 27th, 2023, HelloWorld Inc. and Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School signed on Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for their continuous collaboration of cultural exchange classes offered by WorldClassroom.
Background and Purpose of the MOU
Since 2022, we have been collaborating with schools in Taiwan, and the number of cultural exchange classes has been rounded up to 37 times by now! As we aim to continue the amicable relationship between Japan and Taiwan, this MOU will enable us to foster and promote intercultural understanding as well as to improve communication skills in other languages among all students in Taiwan and Japan.
Below is the description of how we collaborate with the school with MOU! We are happy to announce that our new MOU-contracted school, Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School, has joined us!
1) Offering collaborative services to the clients of WorldClassroom and the students at Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School to provide them with opportunities for mutual engagement.
2) Organizing collaborative online and/or offline sessions through WorldClassroom.
3) Collaborating to share information about Japanese and Taiwanese cultures, as well as student experiences, in order to foster mutual interest.
4) Undertaking additional collaborative initiatives to promote mutual understanding and connections between Japan and Taiwan.
Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School has been one of the most engaging schools that promote their students’ intercultural competence!
Here is our collaboration with Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School.
We would like to share one of the episodes from the cultural exchange class!
On June 15, 2023, Miyazato Junior High School in Okinawa and Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School in Taiwan joined the cultural exchange class. The exchange class lasted for 50 minutes and all the students tried their English to communicate with their peers!

At the beginning of the class, greetings were given by both sides of the school, and the Principal of Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School gave a speech to all the students.

Let’s broaden our horizons to the world through this cultural exchange!” and also talked about how this kind of exchange session is important.

The students who participated gave us the comments below after the class! We are glad that students are interested in the differences and the common features of their own culture and their peers.
When we were presenting Japanese culture with the PowerPoint, Taiwanese students taught us the similar culture that they have in Taiwan. It was a very meaningful cultural exchange class!

It was a great experience for me to have a cultural exchange with students from Japan. I learned a lot about the food and sports in Okinawa. It made me more interested in Okinawa!

Our collaboration with Chiayi County Yung Ching Senior High School cannot be done without the support of its teacher, Ms. Michelle. She shared a comment on how she feels about WorldClassroom:
One of the best ways to connect your students with the world is to have exchanges with their foreign counterparts. HelloWorld is one of the best organizations I have ever collaborated with. It not only offers well-organized cultural projects but also involves all the participants in the online exchange through engaging activities. I’ve had five times of exchanges with Japanese students via the help of HelloWorld, and I am sure there will be more for my students in the years to come.

Toward Further Development of Taiwan-Japan Friendship
In 2022, WorldClassroom conducted 37 cultural exchanges with Taiwanese schools. Through the cultural exchange, we have seen the students of both sides of schools broaden their perspectives and become more motivated in not only learning English but also in communicating and understanding others.
In order to promote our friendship with Taiwan, we would love to connect with schools in the regions of Taiwan. We hope to partner with more schools to create meaningful exchange opportunities for the children who are our future.
