Hello, everyone!
We are WorldClassroom team of HelloWorld Inc.
On February 28, 2024, an online international exchange class utilizing WorldClassroom was held at Okinawa Prefectural Maeharu High School and Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu Parochial School in the Philippines.
It had been almost a year since the last cultural exchange with Taiwan, and the students of the English Department of Maebaru High School tried again with the students from the Philippines.
This was the first time for the Philippine school to participate in an international exchange. This was their first contact with Japan, and the students were looking forward to interacting with Japanese students.
During the cultural exchange, students were exposed to a variety of topics such as food, sports, and music. The students discussed their culture and school life and deepened their understanding of each other.
The groups were a mix of students who spoke English well and those who spoke English less well, and throughout the exchange, students enjoyed the support of their peers.
After the international exchange, the class came to an end. After the representatives from both schools gave speeches of appreciation, everyone took a commemorative photo to remember the event.
The students, who had concentrated on answering questions from their counterparts last year, this time actively asked questions on their own and seemed to enjoy the interaction. This growth is the culmination of the learning that the students of Maebaru High School have been accumulating.
WorldClassroom allow students to connect with their peers from around the world and engage in international exchange as if they were in the classroom next door. These international exchanges provide an opportunity for students to understand different cultures and improve their practical English skills.
If you have the opportunity to participate in worldclassroom again in the future, is there anything you would like to work on?
“I want to practice English pronunciation a lot and learn to speak with gestures as well!”
“I want to be able to communicate better in English and make friends with the students I interact with!”
What is WorldClassroom?
It is an online cross-cultural exchange & English education platform that is widely used in public schools in Japan and schools abroad. We aim to encourage students’ language acquisition and international cultural exchange through the use of technology, while at the same time reducing teacher’s burdens by using an automated evaluation system.
WorldClassroom enables students to use English as a lingua franca in today’s world! Why don’t you provide great, real-life English learning opportunities for your students through online cross-cultural exchange, which they cannot experience just by sitting in front of their desks?
We look forward to hearing from you!
